Mouthwash is formulated for its labeled oral use, not as a foot treatment. A homemade mouthwash, vinegar, and sugar scrub should not be presented as a reliable remedy for foot problems.
Why the old mixture was removed
The former recipe and tub-storage directions did not establish safe skin use or a shelf life. Acids, fragrance, alcohol, and abrasive rubbing can irritate some skin. Do not use the mixture on broken or inflamed skin or to treat infection, fungus, calluses, or a wound.
A safer baseline
Wash gently, dry well, and use a moisturizer suitable for your skin according to its label. Persistent pain, itching, cracks, a rash, or a wound deserves medical advice rather than a kitchen-ingredient treatment.
Extra care for diabetes or reduced sensation
People with diabetes, poor circulation, or reduced foot sensation should follow their clinician’s foot-care advice and avoid self-treating calluses or wounds. NIDDK guidance for diabetes advises against soaking feet and recommends daily inspection.
