This airy whipped cream features a subtle smoky depth from the Mezcal, perfectly balancing its light sweetness with a whisper of charred agave flavor. The smoky notes enhance rich or citrusy desserts by adding complexity without overpowering, leaving a smooth, slightly boozy finish that elevates every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Mezcal (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of smoked sea salt (optional, for accentuating the smoky flavor)

Preparation

  1. In a chilled mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar.
  2. Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks begin to form.
  3. Add the Mezcal, vanilla extract, and smoked sea salt (if using).
  4. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form, being careful not to overbeat.
  5. Taste and adjust the Mezcal or sugar as desired.
  6. Serve immediately atop your dessert, or refrigerate up to 4 hours before serving. Stir gently before plating.
