Light, silky, and bursting with sunshine, Lemon Curd Mousse is a simple yet elegant dessert that tastes like spring in a spoon. This recipe blends the tangy brightness of homemade lemon curd with softly whipped cream for a perfectly balanced finish — rich without being heavy, sweet without losing that citrus snap.

Originally inspired by classic European lemon puddings and French mousse techniques, this version keeps things approachable while delivering a luxurious, restaurant-quality texture. Serve it in small glass cups or ramekins topped with fresh berries and a sprig of mint for a beautiful presentation that’s as impressive as it is effortless.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemon curd (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for extra tartness)
  • Fresh berries (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Preparation

  1. In a large chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, gently whisk the lemon curd until smooth. Add lemon juice if you prefer a brighter, tangier flavor.
  3. Using a spatula, fold the whipped cream into the lemon curd in two or three additions. Fold gently — you want to keep the mousse light and airy.
  4. Spoon or pipe the mousse into dessert glasses, ramekins, or small bowls.
  5. Chill for at least 2 hours to allow the mousse to set and the flavors to blend.
  6. Garnish with fresh berries and a sprig of mint just before serving.

Serving Tip

This mousse pairs beautifully with shortbread cookies or crisp vanilla wafers. For a more decadent touch, layer it in parfait glasses with crushed graham crackers and a drizzle of lemon curd for a “Lemon Cream Pie” vibe.
