Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 10 sheets phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for sprinkling
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush again. Repeat until 5 sheets are layered.
- Spoon a thin line of lemon cream filling along one long edge of the phyllo. Roll up snugly, tucking in the ends as you go, and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining phyllo and filling.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
- Bake 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
